Terms and Conditions for Homeworking Travel Agents

Welcome to The Good Travel Agent! By joining us as a homeworking travel agent (hereafter referred to as “Agent”), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before signing up.

1. Overview
By signing up as a Homeworking Agent with The Good Travel Agent Ltd, located at Lemanis House, Stone Street, Lympne, Hythe, CT21 4NX (“we”, “our”, or “the Company”), you are entering into a non-exclusive working arrangement to sell travel services under our brand in exchange for a commission.

2. Key Terms

• Monthly Fee: £89 per month (inc VAT), payable by direct debit.

• Contract Length: No minimum term – cancel any time with 30 days' notice.

• Commission Split: You will receive 70% of the total commission earned on bookings made.

• Minimum Commission: We retain a minimum of 1.5% of the total holiday value (only applicable when discounting heavily).

• Commission Eligibility: Commissions are only payable while your monthly fees are fully paid and up to date. If you cancel your agreement or fall into arrears, commissions will be withheld.

• Withholding Clause: We reserve the right to withhold commissions at any time in the event of malpractice, non-compliance with company policies, or if your actions result in a financial loss to the Company.

• Payment Schedule: Commissions are paid monthly on the 25th for all customers who have travelled by the 20th of that month.

3. Your Own Bookable Website

As part of your monthly fee, you’ll receive access to a professionally branded, bookable website under The Good Travel Agent name. This will allow you to:

• Take direct online holiday enquiries and bookings

• Feature a wide range of holiday products from our approved suppliers

• Offer add-ons like travel insurance and travel money

• Showcase your own brand within the framework of The Good Travel Agent

• Link to your travel money affiliate shop

• Provide customers with a professional online experience 24/7

You’ll also benefit from:

• ABTA protection and compliance support

• Access to hundreds of tour operators and suppliers

• Induction training and ongoing mentorship

• CLIA Membership (if applicable)

• Admin and business support

• Marketing tools including social media content and templates

• Supplier webinars and networking groups

• Optional advanced training (may incur additional cost)

4. Use of Brand and Systems

You are granted a limited license to operate under "The Good Travel Agent" brand. You may not use our trademarks, brand names, or systems outside of this arrangement or after leaving the business. Any intellectual property remains the property of the Company.

All bookings and trading activity must be conducted solely under our ABTA number. You are not authorised to represent, trade, or carry out business on behalf of any other travel agency or travel brand while working with us.

5. Responsibilities of the Agent

As a homeworking agent, you agree to:

• Follow all Company policies and procedures (supplied upon training)

• Act professionally and ethically with all customers and suppliers

• Comply with relevant UK laws, ABTA’s Code of Conduct, and Package Travel Regulations

• Not operate or promote any competing or unauthorised travel businesses

• Conduct all business activities under our ABTA protection only

• Maintain appropriate business insurance including public liability and professional indemnity

• Only book with suppliers approved and contracted by The Good Travel Agent

• Accept full responsibility and risk for any “de-packaged” or dynamic packaging arrangements

6. Payment and Fees

• Monthly fees are collected by Direct Debit and are non-refundable.

• Late or failed payments may result in access being suspended.

• We reserve the right to withhold commission where fees remain unpaid, in the event of malpractice, or where your actions result in a loss to the Company.

• Commissions are only payable while your monthly fees are current.

• American Express payments are subject to a charge of 1.95% (subject to change).

7. Termination

• You may cancel this arrangement at any time with 30 days’ notice.

• We may terminate the agreement with immediate effect for serious breaches (e.g. misconduct, fraud, or non-payment).

• On leaving, you must immediately stop using our name, tools, branding, and intellectual property.

8. Confidentiality

All training materials, supplier lists, and internal systems are confidential and must not be shared outside of the business during or after your time with us.

9. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any loss of income, profits, or business due to system outages, supplier issues, or other third-party matters. You accept responsibility for ensuring all customer bookings are handled correctly and professionally.

10. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. You will be notified of any significant changes in advance and may cancel your arrangement if you do not agree to the new terms.

11. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be resolved in English courts.

By continuing with your registration and setting up your monthly payment, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions in full.
