From an Idea to 70+ Franchise Owners: Our Journey at The Good Travel Agent
Just 2.5 years ago, Rob and I sat down with a simple but powerful idea.
We wanted to build a travel franchise that genuinely helped people become their own boss. A business that offered flexibility, real support, and the opportunity to build a sustainable, profitable income without needing years of prior experience in the travel industry.
At the time, it was just a vision. No guarantees. Just belief.
Starting with Nine and a Big Dream
When we officially launched The Good Travel Agent, we welcomed just nine franchise owners. Every single one of them was brand new to travel. No industry background. No existing client base. Just ambition, commitment, and the willingness to learn.
Through structured training, ongoing support, and a community that truly had their back, something incredible started to happen. Those nine individuals grew into confident, knowledgeable, and successful travel agents. Watching that transformation remains one of the most rewarding parts of our journey.
Fast Forward to Today
Today, The Good Travel Agent is home to more than 70 franchise owners, with around 90 percent having joined us with no previous travel experience at all. Our franchise owners come from a wide range of professional backgrounds, but they all share one thing in common. They wanted more control over their working lives and a business they could truly call their own.
Together, we are achieving results that once felt like a distant goal.
We recently celebrated the best trading day in our company’s history and we are already up 240 percent year on year in revenue, with the rest of the month still ahead of us. These milestones matter, but not just because of the numbers. They represent hundreds of lives changed, businesses built, and confidence gained.

Our head office team who work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide training, marketing support, operational guidance, and encouragement whenever it is needed.
